Jonny Dub

A true treasure to the Rainy City and one of Manchester’s most loved and known DJs, Jonny is a stalwart of the scene, perfecting his craft over years has paid dividends. Gigs at Low End Theory,  Plastic People, The Warehouse Project, Ape@the Apollo & bookings from San Francisco to Croatia, Jonny has proved he can cut it with the big guns of the dance music world & has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the scene including the likes of MF Doom, Flying Lotus, Magnetic Man & many many more….

Illum Sphere

Co-head honcho with Jonny Dub, known to his friends as Ryan. His productions have captured the attention of the likes of Martyn, Gaslamp Killer, Ras G, Alex Nut, Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B, Ikonika, Lorn, Zed Bias and even Warp Records, who approached him to remix Nice Nice. A Red Bull Music Academy graduate, his DJ sets seem him effortlessly go from Ethiopian funk to grime to boogie to dubstep to just about anything else. His live sets have literally seen jaws drop from the far west of Canada to the South East of Australia. He also promises us that an album is in the pipe.

Chunky

Host with the most, this boys mic skills have gain the attention of just about anyone who’s played with him. Core resident at Manchester’s legendary weekly Hit&Run, he has hosted for everyone from Untold to Scuba to Goldie. Anyone who is lucky to have Chunky host their set always asks for him again & he has steadily worked hard to hone his talent & has picked up legions of fans in the form of top producers, DJ’s as well as crowds who cant seem to get enough of him. Put simply, there is only one Chunky.

EMN

EMN is without doubt Manchester’s most talented visual artist, creating incredible futuristic live animations that is often so jaw dropping, that the performers stop to watch. He’s done visuals for Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Gaslamp Killer, Hudson Mohawke, Kode 9 as well as a regular visual artist for the likes of Bloc festival & much more, EMN’s visual element is at the heart of Hoya:Hoya & he continues to develop his style whilst blowing people minds with his stunning visual content. Seeing is believing in this case.

ECLAIR FIFI

Part of the LuckyMe family & one of the finest musical selections we have ever known. Miss Fifi is incredible behind a set of decks and has been a real face to watch on the scene for the last few years. Headline slots at Sonar festival alongside Hudson Mohawke & New Year shows in Sri Lanka prove that her talent is well justified and 2011 will prove to be a great year as she continues her residencies with LuckyMe & Hoya.

JON K

What can be said about Jon K other then quite possibly one of the finest selectors you will EVER see. A true Manchester legend & as important a figure in the scene today as he has been over the last 10 years. Founder of legendary night Eyes Down (a huge inspiration for the conception of Hoya itself) and resident at Fat City’s Friends & Family, Jon K has been educating people on the dance floor for years. With a finger firmly on the pulse, and respect from old soul boys through to out and out grime kids, we’ve gotta say it was a real honour when Jon agreed to join the crew.

LONE

Lone is one of the nicest people we have ever known. A regular face at the Hoya nights he would travel up from his native Nottingham and for months we never knew. When we heard he was moving up to the city we immediately offered him a residency spot. One of the most brilliant producers of the last few years, Lone has steadily re-invented his sound from a low slung hip hop swagger into the harder club rave anthems that many people are familiar of today. Releases on Actress’ Werk Discs as well as his own label Magic Wire have really cemented him as one of the most cutting edge producers on the scene at the moment. He owns 2011 already.

KRYSTAL KLEAR

A man who burst on the scene in a blaze of Boogie in 2010, with three stunning releases in quick succession on Cooly G’s Dub Organiser label, All City & our debut Hoya:Hoya record. The scene didn’t quite know what had just hit it. The boy you know as Krystal Klear has been working hard and picking up fans all along the way. With support and love coming from heavyweights like Mary Anne Hobbs, Skream, Hudson Mohawke & many more he is already shaping up to be one of the names on everyone’s lips for the future.
